North Sinai writers are preparing to hold the General Egyptian Writers Conference in Al-Arish at the end of this month
Writers and intellectuals in the governorate are making extensive preparations for the conference, which includes preparing research papers, organizing critical sessions and literary evenings, in addition to discussing issues of literary creativity and the role of culture in supporting national identity and promoting community development.
The conference being held in the city of Al-Arish confirms the role of North Sinai as an incubator for cultural creativity, and is an opportunity to highlight the unique literary experiences of Sinai writers, and to enhance communication between writers of different regions, which contributes to enriching the Egyptian cultural movement.
A call to restore the cultural voice of Al-Arish
Novelist Abdullah Al-Salaymeh said that North Sinai Governorate is on the cusp of two prominent events: the holding of the general conference during the period from 26 to 29 of this month in the city of Arish, and the declaration of North Sinai as the Egyptian Capital of Culture for the year 2026. These are two major milestones that represent a golden opportunity to highlight the true face of the cultural scene in North Sinai, restore its declining presence, and present its creative energies.
He added that the next stage requires the cooperation of everyone: the great writers with their deep experience, the youth with their renewed enthusiasm, the Cultural Salon with its continuous support, and the official institution with its capabilities and sponsorship.
