Representatives discuss the agreement to support the study of increasing the capacity of the electrical interconnection line between Egypt and Jordan

The letter of understanding aims to contribute to financing the preparation of an integrated feasibility study for a project to raise the capacity of the electrical interconnection line between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, within the framework of supporting regional electrical interconnection projects and enhancing integration in the field of energy.

In another context, Representative Mustafa Al-Bahi, Secretary of the Industry Committee and member of the Central Secretariat of the Republican People’s Party, presented a new draft law under the name of the Law Child protection From the digital influencer and the regulation of digital media, in a move aimed at developing a comprehensive legislative framework to control digital content and protect children from the risks associated with the unregulated use of platforms.

The representative confirmed that the draft law came after extensive work and study, and consists of 7 chapters and 54 articles, dealing with regulating the work of digital platforms and their legal obligations within the country, in addition to setting clear controls to protect minors from inappropriate or harmful content.

Binding obligations for digital platforms

The project stipulates that digital platforms are obligated to be transparent in managing content, ads, and algorithms, and to comply immediately with judicial orders and orders of the competent public prosecution.
