The new issue of “Egyptian Days” magazine was published under the editorship of historian Ahmed Kamali, and with distinguished artistic direction by artist Mohamed Attia.
This issue was dedicated to celebrating the memory of the international writer Naguib Mahfouz, on the occasion of his selection as Person of the Year for the Cairo International Book Fair.
In its main file, the issue provides an in-depth reading of Egypt in 1911, the year of Naguib Mahfouz’s birth, based on a central idea that believes that genius is not born in a vacuum, but rather is the daughter of its era, and that understanding the historical and social context opens the door for us to understanding human genius and its causes.

The issue deals with rich topics, including the Foreign Books House movement and the struggle over its leadership, and Naguib Mahfouz’s role in preserving Egyptian history and national memory, in addition to cultural files.
