Ibrahim Hassan added, in official statements, that coordination had been made between the national team’s medical staff, led by Dr. Mohamed Abu El-Ela, and the Pyramids Club’s medical staff, so that Mohamed Hamdy would undergo surgery on January 15 in Germany.

Earlier, Mohamed Hamdy, the left back for the Egyptian first team and the Pyramids team, asked to postpone his travel to Germany to undergo cruciate ligament surgery after suffering a tear during his participation with the Pharaohs in the African Cup of Nations.

According to what Cairo 24 learned at the time, Mohamed Hamdi rejected the idea of ​​traveling early and asked to stay in Agadir in order to support his teammates against Côte d’Ivoire, after which he would leave the mission and travel to Germany to undergo surgery.

The stars of the Egyptian national team were also keen to send a strong message of support to their colleague Mohamed Hamdy, the national team’s defender, after qualifying for the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations, after the well-deserved victory over the Côte d’Ivoire national team with a score of 3-2 in the quarter-final match.

The match witnessed a humanitarian gesture, as team captain Mohamed Salah lifted Mohamed Hamdy’s shirt after the end of the match, in a clear message of support for the player who suffered a severe injury with a cruciate ligament tear, during the Egyptian national team’s confrontation with Benin in the round of 16 of the tournament.
