Torop’s statements
After the match, Torop said in the press conference: I always say that football is played to win, and this is the most important thing in the game. We played two matches and won both, and I think we deserved the victory. Good defense gives us championships, and I was hoping to get a clean sheet.
He continued: I usually do not talk about each player individually, but it is important to praise Mohamed El-Shenawy, who made a wonderful save in the first half.
He added: I spoke in the previous conference about goalkeeping, and we have distinguished goalkeepers. I spoke to them about participating in the stage we are going through, and during the past two matches, the two goalkeepers performed at a distinguished level.
He added: Our striker Marwan Othman scored his first goal with us, and I know very well what it means for a striker to score his first goal with a team he recently joined. We saw him performing well and doing everything he could, and I congratulated him in the locker room, and God willing, it will not be the last goal.
He continued: I am very satisfied with Marwan Othman’s performance, but he is a young player and needs to get the opportunity, especially since he plays in a big club, and I am sure that he will be very special, and my focus with him is on developing his performance, but as for what will happen at the end of the season, we do not know it now.
He continued: I always say that my focus is with the players currently present, and I do not get distracted by what is going on around me. I know that there are two days remaining until the registration window closes, and I will discuss with the club about the possibility of concluding a new deal, but there is nothing to talk about now.
He concluded his statements by saying: I explained to the players returning from the national team our playing style, and I know that they are coming from a different thought, so I gave them a presentation on what we had been working on previously, and each player knew what was required of him.
