Successful catering management Kafr Shukr In Qalyubia, a cart loaded with 34 bags of fortified local flour – 87% extraction – with a total weight of one ton and 700 kg was seized, before it was smuggled and sold on the black market.

The Supply Directorate confirmed that the seized quantity was without invoices indicating its source, for the purpose of achieving illegal gains. A report was drawn up on the incident and the Public Prosecution was notified to complete the legal procedures.

In a related context, the campaign resulted in the issuance of 5 minutes of non-announcement of prices for various commercial activities, including a supermarket, an electrical appliances store, a food store, and motorcycle spare parts stores.

Intensive food campaigns

For his part, Dr. Tamer Salah Mokhtar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in Qalyubia, said that the campaigns aim to tighten control over markets and bakeries, ensure compliance with the specifications of the local loaf in terms of weight, cleanliness and quality, monitor price announcements, and control any attempt to smuggle or store illegally subsidized goods.
The Directorate called on citizens to cooperate with the regulatory authorities and report any violations affecting the support system through the unified government complaints system on hotline 16528 or via the website www.shakwa.eg.
