The Belgian club, Club Brugge, decided the future of its rising Egyptian talent, Mohamed El-Bey, with an official decision to promote him to the ranks of the first football team, to be on the main roster that will participate in the preparation period for the new football season, in a step that reflects great confidence in the young player’s capabilities.

Cairo 24 reveals Al-Bay’s promotion to the first team with Club Brugge

A source revealed, in statements to Cairo 24, that the Belgian club management included El Bey’s name in the list of first team players for next season, which means his permanent and continuous presence with the adults, and the beginning of his true professional journey in the Belgian Premier League.

The source said that Mohamed El-Bey, who has dual Egyptian and Belgian citizenship, stated his position on representing the national teams. He will not play for the Egyptian national team unless he receives an official call-up to join the first team of the Pharaohs, especially since he previously received a call-up from the Belgium youth team, and has already participated with them in international matches.

It is noteworthy that Mohamed Al-Bay, 17 years old, is considered one of the most prominent Egyptian talents with dual nationality in Europe, and is active in the right-back position.

He had previously been called up to the Egyptian youth team to participate in the last World Cup, but the incompleteness of his official papers and Egyptian passport at the time prevented him from being present in the tournament. Club Brugge also secured its young player with a professional contract that he signed at the beginning of 2026, extending until 2029.
