The Economic Court postponed the first trial session Festivals singer Issam Sasaagainst the backdrop of being accused of violating intellectual property rights, by using the melody of the song “Ala Bali” by artist Sherine Abdel Wahab without obtaining prior permission from the rights holders for the March 3 session to announce attendance.
The details of the incident are due to lawyer Sameh Qenawy submitting a report to the Public Prosecutor, in which he accused Sassa of appropriating the song’s melody and employing it in his singing works without legal basis, in clear violation of the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Law.
