Manial Palace Museum opens a temporary exhibition entitled Light of the Palace in the Throne Palace
The opening of this exhibition comes within the framework of the cultural and civilizational role played by the museum in highlighting the aesthetics of the Egyptian and Islamic heritage, introducing the artistic and historical values reflected in its holdings, in addition to providing a distinct cultural and awareness experience to its visitors from different groups.
The “Light of the Palace” exhibition includes a distinctive collection of traditional lanterns made of copper and glass, which are considered one of the most prominent traditional lighting elements associated with homes and palaces in different eras. These pieces of art reflect the aesthetics of Islamic art, with their delicate geometric and floral decorations, in addition to the diversity of craftsmanship techniques used in their formation and manufacture.
The exhibition also highlights the development of the lantern industry over time, and its role in daily life, celebrations and social events, reflecting the cultural and aesthetic dimension of these heritage pieces. The exhibition provides the visitor with an opportunity to contemplate the fine artistic details that distinguish each piece, and learn about traditional lighting methods that preceded modern means.
The museum administration confirmed that the exhibition is part of a series of cultural activities aimed at stimulating tourism within the museum and enhancing awareness of the artistic and cultural heritage, noting that visiting the exhibition is available as part of the museum’s entry ticket.
The “Light of the Palace” exhibition continues for a whole month in the Throne Palace inside the museum.
