The traffic situation in the streets, axes, and squares of Cairo and Giza governorates witnessed fluid traffic in the early hours of Thursday morning, amid the deployment of men from the General Traffic Department to monitor traffic movement and confront any obstacles that would negatively affect the movement of vehicles.

Traffic situation today

The traffic situation was stable on the main roads, axes, and squares in Cairo and Giza governorates. Car movement above the Ring Road and the 26th of July Corridor in Cairo witnessed regular traffic. The October Bridge, Roxy Square, Ramses, Abdel Moneim Riad, and the downtown areas witnessed regular car movement.

Traffic flow appeared in Cairo Governorate in Tahrir Square and the central Cairo area, with regular car movement at all entrances leading to the square. Traffic flow also appeared in the upper areas of the Nile Corniche, as well as heading to the Helwan and Malik al-Saleh areas.

Giza Governorate witnessed a state of traffic flexibility, as the 6th of October City witnessed traffic flow, especially in the neighborhoods and the Central Mehwar Street, while the main Haram Street witnessed a slowdown in car traffic, due to the closure of the road at its intersection with Mariouteya, and in the Mesaha area, Al-Arish, Madkour and Talbieh Streets, due to the construction of 5 subway stations and obliging drivers to take designated alternative routes.

The General Traffic Department employed traffic relief vehicles on all sections of the roads, to assist motorists whose cars broke down on the roads or were involved in accidents, through the number 01221110000, in most streets and squares, the Ring Road, the 26th of July Corridor, Tahrir Square, and the Nasr City and Heliopolis areas.
