The competent investigation authorities in Cairo have begun investigating an incident in which girls claimed to have been harassed by a young man in Helwan.

For its part, the Ministry of Interior issued a statement regarding the incident, which said: The security services of the Ministry of Interior revealed the circumstances of a video clip that was circulated on social networking sites, which included a person harming his cousin because she falsely claimed that he had harassed her and filmed it on her mobile phone to defame him due to the presence of previous disputes between them in Cairo.
Through examination, it was possible to identify the person responsible for the publication, Amel, and the three girls appearing in the video clip, “including his cousin,” all of whom reside in the Helwan Police Department. It was found that there were family disputes over inheritance between the father of the person responsible for the publication and his uncle, “the father of one of the girls,” which developed into his uncle assaulting him by beating him, causing his injury earlier, and issuing a court ruling against him to imprison him.
Later, the person in charge of the publication and his uncle’s daughter happened to pass by, accompanied by her two friends, so they headed towards him, and both parties photographed each of them in an attempt to prove that one of them assaulted the other, without any incident of harassment.
It was possible for both parties to be arrested, and when they were confronted, they admitted to committing the incident as referred to for the same disputes. Legal measures were taken, and the Public Prosecution took over the investigation.
