The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, confirmed that Egypt is taking great steps towards building a better future, and that distinguished education and advanced scientific research are at the forefront of the state’s priorities, and this is something that the Ministry gives the greatest care and attention.
Khamis Foundation for Community Development honors the 100 top secondary school and Al-Azhar students
This came during the celebration of the Khamis Foundation for Community Development, welcoming and honoring the twenty-second batch, the 100 top secondary school students, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education.
The Minister congratulated the outstanding students and their parents, stressing that they are facing a new, more important and dangerous stage, which is the culmination of the effort and the completion of the process of hard work.
Dr. Ayman Ashour: A wonderful tradition because it is an investment in people
The Minister said that this is not the first time that I have participated in this honor, and it is a tradition that I thank the institution and those in charge of implementing with such quality and professionalism, for more than twenty years.
The Minister stressed the importance of investing in young minds, as the human element is the most important factor in achieving sustainable development, and that is why many governments around the world are working to adopt policies that support outstanding students, by offering scholarships, specialized training programs, and providing creative environments that help develop skills and enhance the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. He stressed that Egypt continues to work on developing the system of higher education and scientific research, by enhancing international cooperation, providing opportunities for its youth to benefit from pioneering experiences in developed countries, and adopting strategies that support innovation and creativity.
Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed the importance of continuing work in implementing ambitious strategies aimed at achieving digital transformation in universities, developing technical and technological education, supporting entrepreneurship, and providing young people with the skills that qualify them to compete in the labor market. He thanked the Khamis Foundation for Community Development for its efforts in supporting and caring for outstanding students. He also thanked the parents who were partners in this success.

Yasmine Khamis, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Khamis Foundation for Community Development, said: I always repeat it, this is the most beautiful and happiest celebration in my heart, and I call it the celebration of success, because I see in it the future and hope, success after work, excellence after patience. God has honored you, because you have been faithful, and with the support and prayers of your parents, who are the main heroes in this success.
Khamis added: The Foundation is a charitable project for my father, may God have mercy on him, in its (twenty-second) year, and we are continuing with His Almighty’s permission, and as you know, we, the Oriental Weavers Group, by the grace of God, are a successful and unique entity, locally and globally.

She continued: This success, just as it is a joy, is also a great responsibility that requires double effort and more work, and this is precisely my advice to all of you.
Khamis concluded her statements: The Foundation is with you, and will continue to provide support, care and assistance.
The celebration had begun with the Holy Qur’an, then with a screening of a documentary film about the achievements of the institution, which was established by the late great and pioneer of Egyptian industry, Mohamed Farid Khamis, and its national contributions to the development of society.
The celebration activities were witnessed by Mr. Mohamed Saafan, former Minister of Labor, Dr. Gouda Ghanem, Head of the Education Sector, Secretary of the Supreme Council for Institutes Affairs, Major General Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rahim, President of Shorouk Academy, Dr. Mohamed Shoman, Vice President of Shorouk Academy, Dr. Hammad Abdullah, former Dean of the College of Applied Arts, Major General Alaa Shehata, President of the Weavers Textile Company, Amr Zein, President of IFCO, and Ambassador Dr. Ali El-Hafny, Special Advisor. To the British University for African Affairs, Ms. Faryal Khamis and Ms. Fatina Khamis, the deans of colleges at the British University, the Shorouk Academy, Amal Gamal, Secretary General of the Khamis Foundation for Community Development, the outstanding students, their parents, and the press and media.
At the conclusion of the celebration, the two ministers, the woman of industry, Farida Khamis, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the British University in Egypt, and the Shorouk Academy, accompanied by Yasmine Khamis, distributed certificates to the honorees, and took souvenir photos with them.
The Foundation’s services for outstanding students include providing monthly pocket money, books, supplies, tuition fees, university city expenses, and necessary tools for students in the faculties of medicine, engineering, and health and social care.
The celebration was presented by Dr. Adel Al-Yamani, the media advisor to the Foundation and the Oriental Weavers Group.
