Major General Dr. Tariq Hamid Al-Shazly, Governor of Suez, directed the implementation of expanded campaigns, in preparation for the month of Ramadan, by the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade and the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in the markets in various neighborhoods of the governorate to ensure the safety of the food and products offered and their suitability for human consumption, and to address any violations that affect the health of citizens.

A source told Cairo 24 that the governor of Suez stressed the intensification of food and veterinary campaigns in all five neighbourhoods, namely Suez, Al-Arbaeen, Faisal, Ataqa, and Al-Janain, while taking the maximum legal measures against violators who provide food that is not fit for human consumption.

He stressed the expansion of campaigns and the follow-up of hotels, tourist villages and major stores, in addition to discussing the establishment of an exhibition for food supplies in Arbaeen Square in coordination between the Supply Directorate and the Chamber of Commerce.

The accountant Ahmed Ali, Director of the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in the Suez Governorate, had announced that, in implementation of the directives of Major General Dr. Tariq Hamid El Shazly, the Governor of Suez, and in coordination with the Supply Investigations and the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine, an expanded ration campaign was launched within the framework of intensifying oversight of markets, restaurants, and bakeries and combating commercial fraud and deception in order to preserve public health.

The campaign resulted in the seizure of two restaurants in the Suez District district, the first of which was Musmat, and the second of which was one of the famous liver restaurants that serve fast food. A quantity of 62 kilograms of veal meat, minced meat, hawawshi dough, sausage, and liver were seized. It was found that there were signs of spoilage and a change in properties and that they were not fit for human consumption. The necessary legal measures were taken against the violators.
