
The Educational Buildings Authority in Dakahlia Governorate continues to implement an expanded plan to establish new schools, in addition to complete and partial replacement and expansion work in a large number of schools in various centers and cities, within the framework of the state’s plan to improve and raise the efficiency of the educational level, reduce student densities, and provide a safe and appropriate educational environment.
The plan includes the implementation of 54 educational projects, ranging from new construction, complete replacement, partial replacement, and expansions, at a large estimated cost, with implementation rates ranging from 1% to 75%, with most projects being completed during the years 2026 and 2027, all of which aim to improve and raise the efficiency of the educational process.
First: Current projects (from 1 to 20)
Construction of a new Hoda Hegazy Official Language School – Sheberbin, at a cost of 39.15 million pounds, began in February 2025, and is scheduled for completion in May 2026, with an implementation rate of 53%, and included in the budget.
Establishment of a new Afaf Abdel Rahman Al-Shorbaji Official Language School – Al-Gamaleya
At a cost of 38.33 million pounds, it began in November 2024 and ends in January 2026, with an implementation rate of 75%, and included in the budget, with a challenge represented by the contractor’s inaction and he was officially warned.
Construction of a new Imad Hamdi Al-Adl Secondary School – West Mansoura
At a cost of 27.38 million pounds, from January 2025 until March 2026, with an implementation rate of 65%, and included in the budget.
Complete replacement of Al-Qanan Joint Primary School – Sinbellaween
At a cost of 13.1 million pounds, from June 2025 until April 2026, with an implementation rate of 35%, and included in the budget.
Complete replacement of Al-Qanan Joint Primary School – Sinbellaween (another stage)
With the same cost, duration, and implementation rate of 35%.
Expansion of Shiwa East Basic Education School – Aja
At a cost of 15.18 million pounds, from June 2025 until February 2026, with an implementation rate of 38%.
Partial replacement of Al-Youssefiya Preparatory Secondary School – Bani Ubaid
At a cost of 21.01 million pounds, from March 2025 until April 2026, with an implementation rate of 38%.
Establishment of the Egyptian-Japanese School – Dikernes
At a cost of 84.42 million pounds, from November 2024 until February 2026, with an implementation rate of 57%.
New construction of Ahmed Mustafa Al-Feki Basic Education School – Mit Ghamr
At a cost of 25.34 million pounds, from March 2025 until February 2026, with an implementation rate of 65%.
New establishment of Nasr Shalabi Al-Qazzaz Basic Education School – Al-Manzala
At a cost of 30.18 million pounds, from March 2025 until April 2026, with an implementation rate of 25%.
Expansion of 53 Abu Madi Primary School – Belqas
At a cost of 23.32 million pounds, from January 2025 to February 2026, with an implementation rate of 65%.
Expansion of Rifaat Abdel Maqsoud Awad Primary School – Belqas
At a cost of 20.32 million pounds, over the same period, with an implementation rate of 75%.
Expansion of Haj Ali Abu Aisha Preparatory School – Mit Ghamr
At a cost of 12.71 million pounds, from February 2025 until January 2026, with an implementation rate of 60%.
Expansion, upgrading and maintenance of Al-Salam Basic Education School – Al-Aziza Al-Manzala
At a cost of 23.74 million pounds, from January 2025 to February 2026, with an implementation rate of 70%.
Construction of a new Bridge Masha Primary School – Al-Manzala
At a cost of 27.96 million pounds, from January 2025 to March 2026, with an implementation rate of 45%, with the presence of encroachments by the residents for which a report has been filed, and the work is currently progressing satisfactorily.
Expansion of Gamal Awad Preparatory School – Sinbellaween
At a cost of 11.05 million pounds, an implementation rate of 70%.
Establishment of a new Ibrahim Rizq Al-Ashry Basic Education School – Belqas
At a cost of 28.45 million pounds, an implementation rate of 65%.
Expansion of Al-Damaira Secondary Technical School for Girls – Belqas
At a cost of 33.26 million pounds, an implementation rate of 20%.
Complete replacement of Shabrawish Preparatory School – Aja
At a cost of 22.54 million pounds, an implementation rate of 45%.
Expansion of Nasser Joint Basic Education School – Aja
At a cost of 22.94 million pounds, an implementation rate of 48%.
Second: Projects from (21 to 54)
The list includes the completion of 34 other projects, including complete and partial replacement, new construction, and expansions in the centers of Aja, Sinbellaween, Belqas, Manzala, Mit Ghamr, Beni Ubaid, and Minyat Al-Nasr, the most prominent of which are:
Complete replacement of the Arab Martyr Ibrahim Abd Rabbo Khattab Primary School – Aja, with an implementation rate of 42%.
Establishment of Misr Integrated Language School – Sinbellaween by 32%.
Establishment of Jamil Sayed Ahmed Secondary School – Sinbellaween with a 1% implementation rate. The proposal was made to withdraw the works and legal measures are being taken.
Establishing new official language schools and secondary schools in East and West Mansoura.
Complete and partial replacement of a large number of primary and middle schools in Manzala, Belqas and Mit Ghamr.
Construction of Bani Ubaid Industrial Secondary School at a cost of 114.75 million pounds, with an implementation rate of 22%.
Establishment of the late Ezzat Saleh Industrial Secondary School at a cost of 91.67 million pounds, with an implementation rate of 15%.
Funding and challenges
The data showed that the majority of projects are included in the budget within the plan to improve and raise the efficiency of education, while a number of challenges were monitored, the most prominent of which are:
Some contractors failed and were formally warned.
There were encroachments on the lands of some educational projects, and the necessary legal measures were taken.
Low implementation rates in a limited number of newly started projects.
The concerned authorities confirmed the continuation of daily field follow-up of the projects, and coordination with the implementing companies, to ensure adherence to the specified timetables, and that schools enter service successively, which contributes to creating a qualitative shift in the level of education in Dakahlia Governorate.
