
The Ninth Circuit of the Assiut Criminal Court ruled to punish a worker with aggravated imprisonment for 16 years, accusing him of killing his friend, after he believed that the victim possessed photos and videos of the accused’s sister.
The ruling was issued under the chairmanship of Counselor Muhammad Hossam Hamza, President of the Court, with the membership of Counselors Ahmed Abu Al-Qasim Muhammad and Moaz Mahmoud Al-Husseini, and as secretariat as Bakhit Shehata and Tariq Fares.
The facts of Case No. 14561 of 2025, Manfalut Felony, are due to the Manfalut Police Station receiving a report from the Central Hospital about the arrival of the victim, “Muhammad.” B. C (35 years old), suffered a stab wound in the neck and another in the chest, and was transferred to Assiut University Hospital, where he died during an attempt to treat him.
Investigations by Lieutenant Colonel Mustafa Khaled bin Al-Walid, head of the investigation unit of the Manfalut Police Station, revealed that the accused, “Abu Al-Hassan,” was behind the incident. R. S” (24 years old), as it turned out that the accused became aware of the belief that the victim possessed pictures and videos belonging to his sister, called “Hanim”, so he expressed his intention and resolved to get rid of him.
Investigations revealed that on the day of the incident, the accused lured the victim, taking advantage of the friendship between them, and asked him to accompany him to one of the neighboring villages, where they rode the victim’s motorcycle. While they were walking on one of the side roads far from the eyes of passers-by, the accused took out a white weapon (a knife) from among the folds of his clothes, and assaulted the victim, causing injuries that claimed his life.
Investigations added that after committing the crime, the accused seized the victim’s motorcycle, mobile phone, and national ID card, and fled the scene.
By codifying the legal procedures, the officers of the Manfalut Police Station Investigation Unit were able to arrest the accused, and when he confronted him with the results of the investigations, he admitted to committing the incident.
