Cairo police arrested a famous director and member of the Acting Professions Syndicate, after a cook accused him of defrauding him of a sum of money and obtaining a quarter of a million pounds from him. He claimed that he was able to send him to Italy through the Egyptian-Italian Relations Forum, with which the Acting Professions Syndicate had concluded a cooperation protocol. This is contrary to the truth, as he did not implement what was agreed upon and the sum of money was not returned to him.
He told him, “I will get you a Schengen visa for Italy.” Details of the arrest of a famous director on charges of defrauding a cook of 250,000 pounds.
Al-Tabbakh said in the details of his report that the accused told him that he was a member of the Acting Professions Syndicate and took 250,000 pounds from him: “He said, ‘You have Italy because we work with it in the cooperation protocol of the Egyptian-Italian Relations Forum, and we know that I will get you a Schengen visa and tell you that you are going to the forum,’ and he slandered me, and his words turned out to be a lie.”
The detectives arrested the accused director and it turned out that he is called Magdy A., a former director at the National Theater and a member of the Syndicate of Acting Professions, but he denied the charges against him and that he had taken money from the complainant. A report was drawn up on the incident and it is being investigated and the accused was detained pending investigation.
