A close friend of Aya Adel, a victim of marital violence, explained to Cairo 24 new details about the case, saying: Aya had been divorced for 3 months before the incident, and Karim was staying in a separate house from her, but he would frequent her and the children, and he would always threaten and intimidate her, despite his divorce.
She continued: On the day of the incident, after he opened the window and fell, he went down to the street 10 minutes later and covered her body, then went out and cleaned the window using a base to erase the fingerprints from it.
She added: Aya was beaten with sharp objects before her death, and this is forensic evidence due to the bruises on her body and the obvious swelling, and the accused used the accusations against him of beating as an excuse that she was in a relationship with a young man in order to escape punishment.
She added: After the incident, Ibn Aya told us that his father pushed his mother out of the window, and the eldest son kept going and looking at his mother from the window after the incident, and what happened to the children their age will never forget.
