One of the colleges at Minya University witnessed a shocking incident that sparked controversy within student circles, after a student filed a report accusing a faculty member – a teaching assistant at the college – of having an illicit relationship with her on campus, taking advantage of his job position and his promise to improve her grades and marry her.

The student said NoraIn exclusive statements to “Cairo 24”, the beginning of the incident dates back to the year 2022, while she was studying in college, when the teaching assistant began to get close to her, explaining: “He was trying to get close to me and asked to be with me more than once, and I initially refused… but he continued to pressure me with words and promised me that the relationship would remain official and we would get married.”
The student added that the teaching assistant was known for his many relationships within the college, before he tried – as she described it – to “change his image” and convince her that he wanted a serious relationship with her, noting that she was afraid that he would fail her in his subject, which made her respond to his repeated attempts.
She continued: “I was terrified that he would drop me in the subject, and I preferred the relationship to increase because of his words and his constant promise that he would propose to me…until he began to go out with me inside the college, and in offices and places where there was no one.”
Islam Ahmed, the girl’s lawyer, confirmed that she was subjected to pressure from him after she became pregnant by a serial killer, who – according to her statements – forced her to terminate the pregnancy, promised her that he would bear responsibility, and then abandoned her completely, which prompted her to write an official report and request an investigation into the incident.
The competent investigation authorities in Minya Governorate begin examining the report, listening to the statements of the student and witnesses, and taking the necessary legal measures regarding the incident.
