The security services concerned with securing one of the electoral districts in the Shubrakhit Police Station District in Beheira were able to arrest a person while he was traveling around the district’s vicinity in a tuk-tuk with a picture of one of the candidates stuck on it to urge voters to cast their votes for him.
Follow up on the progress of the electoral process in Beheira
The tuk-tuk vehicle was seized and legal measures were taken against its driver, for propaganda in violation of the controls of the National Elections Authority. The Public Prosecution took over the investigation, and this comes within the framework of following up on the progress of the electoral process.
In a separate context, a security source denied the authenticity of what was reported in a video clip circulated on social media, which included the claim of a female candidate for the House of Representatives elections in one of the electoral districts in Giza that her supporters were being subjected to arbitrary measures.
The source confirmed that no electoral propaganda will be allowed during the period of electoral silence, in accordance with the controls of the National Elections Authority, and that the law is applied to all candidates in order to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
