The Naga Hammadi Criminal Court, headed by Counselor Mohamed Al-Rifai, with the membership of Counselors Mustafa Mahmoud, Hisham Yahya, and a secretariat, Abu Al-Maaref Abdel-Shafi, Mohamed Kahlawi, and Osama Al-Amir, punished a merchant with death by hanging after taking a legal opinion on charges of killing his wife by burning him with gasoline due to marital disputes, in one of the villages of the Naga Hammadi Center, north of Qena Governorate.

The beginning of the case dates back to August 2023, when the security services of the Qena Security Directorate found the body of a woman with burns inside a farm in the village of Al-Qamana, affiliated with the Nag Hammadi Center District.

After intensifying investigations, it was found that the accused, the victim’s husband, called W, a free trader, forcefully lured his wife into his car until he drove her to his farm in the village of Al-Qamana and set it on fire after pouring gasoline, which led to her burning to death due to marital disputes between them.

The accused was arrested and the case was referred to the Nag Hammadi Criminal Court, which sentenced him to death by hanging after taking a legal opinion regarding his execution on charges of killing his wife by burning him with gasoline in the Nag Hammadi center.
