The Fayoum Endowments Directorate, in cooperation with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, organized extensive scientific seminars entitled “Etiquette of Joking in Islam,” after the evening prayer, inside 150 mosques in various centers and villages of the governorate, as part of the activities of the “Standing Platform” program and the “Correct Your Concepts” initiative.

The seminars were sponsored by His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar The honorableand Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, under the guidance of Sheikh Salama Abdel Razek, Director of the Fayoum Endowments Directorate, and under the supervision of Sheikh Yahya Muhammad, Director of Da’wah in the Directorate.
The seminars dealt with clarifying the correct concept of joking in Islam, and explaining the legal controls that govern it, while emphasizing its role in consolidating human relations and spreading the spirit of familiarity and affection among people, warning against forms of reprehensible joking that may lead to hurting feelings, ridicule, or insulting others.
