He said Hossam Mowafi Professor of Critical Cases at Kasr Al-Aini Faculty of Medicine: Fasting is not limited to abstaining from food and drink for 30 days, but rather it is an integrated educational school whose effects extend beyond the month of Ramadan, to create a more balanced and mature person in his behavior and actions.
Intensive training course
He explained during his presentation of the Rab Zadni Al-Ilma program on Sada El-Balad channel, that the real question is not: How many days have we fasted?; Rather: What have we learned from fasting? Stressing that this worship represents an intensive training course on self-discipline, controlling desires, and controlling emotions, and is not just a seasonal worship that ends with the end of the holy month.
The person remained silent
He pointed out that one of the most important lessons that fasting gives a person is the ability to control anger.
From a medical perspective, it has been shown that emotion leads to the secretion of hormones that affect the balance of the body, but if a person remains silent or calm for only two minutes, the effect of these hormones begins to decline, and the person regains his calm and balance.
Fasting in human relations
He also touched on the importance of applying the values of fasting in human relationships, especially in marital life, citing the Qur’anic rule: “And do not forget the virtue between you,” explaining that justice means that each party obtains his rights and performs his duties, while virtue means rising above precise calculations, with tolerance and overlooking minor things in order to preserve affection and mercy.
