Representative Ahmed Samir, a member of the Senate, confirmed that the discussions he held Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population with the delegation of Swedish companies represents an important step in the development of the Egyptian health system, and reflects the state’s vision of shifting from importing medical solutions to localizing the industry and transferring knowledge.

Samir said in a special statement to “Sada El Balad” that partnerships with Swedish companies, especially in the fields of pharmaceuticals, digital health, and advanced medical technology, contribute to building a strong industrial base capable of meeting the needs of the local market and opening horizons for regional export, in a way that supports the national economy and enhances health security.

Health systems management and medical artificial intelligence

The senator added that the successful Egyptian experiences, most notably the elimination of Hepatitis C and the “100 Million Health” initiatives, have made Egypt a reliable international partner in implementing major health programs, which explains the increasing interest of countries and international companies in investing in the Egyptian health sector.

Ahmed Samir stressed that benefiting from Swedish expertise in the fields of digital transformation, health systems management, and medical artificial intelligence will have a direct impact on improving the quality of service and reducing the gap between citizens and global best practices in health care.

He concluded his statement by emphasizing that the Senate strongly supports any government directions that enhance serious international partnerships and achieve a balance between technological development and sustainability, ensuring an advanced health system worthy of the Egyptian citizen.
