Aliou Dieng, a star midfielder, joined the team Al-Ahly To the list of those absent from the ranks of Al-Ahmar, during its upcoming match against its counterpart, Ceramica Cleopatra, in the Professional League Cup tournament.
Al-Ahly will meet its counterpart Ceramica Cleopatra in the match that brings them together in the second round of the group stage of the Professional League Cup for the current season 2025/2026.
Aliou Dieng will miss participating with Al-Ahly in the Ceramica Cleopatra match, and the rest of the League Cup matches, due to his departure to join the Mali national team camp in preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Al-Ahly had insisted on Dieng continuing with the red team, and sending him to join the Mali national team camp on the 15th of this December, according to what was announced by FIFA, regarding the date for professionals to join the African Championship competitions.
The Danish coach, Jes Torop, the Al-Ahly team’s coach, had previously given the Al-Ahly players a break from group training for 48 hours, which ends today, Sunday, after the match with Enppi, which he played in the opening of his career in the League Cup.
Al-Ahly will return to complete its group training, tomorrow evening, Monday, the fifteenth of December, in order to begin preparations for the Ceramica Cleopatra match in the local championship.
