Donald Trump criticizes the US Department of Justice for continuing to publish the Jeffrey Epstein files

Trump’s statements came after the department announced the discovery of more than a million additional documents linked to Epstein and his former partner Ghislaine Maxwell, which will be subject to review before being released to the public in accordance with the transparency law that Trump signed in November 2025.

In a post on the Ruth Social platform, Trump described the document review process as expensive and unnecessary, asking: When will they say enough is enough and start working on election fraud and other things?, adding that it was the Democrats who cooperated with Epstein, not the Republicans, demanding that the department publish the names of all those involved and expose them.

Trump has described the ongoing scrutiny of Epstein as another witch hunt, accusing his critics of trying to distract from the accomplishments of his previous administration.

For its part, the Ministry of Justice announced that the disclosure of the new documents came within compliance with the Transparency Law, noting that the process of reviewing the huge amount of files requires weeks before they are published to the public.

The ministry confirmed that some of the documents already published had been heavily redacted, sparking criticism from some lawmakers and the public about their true value.

The documents include possible interactions between Trump and Epstein, in addition to allegations and alleged meetings at the Mar-a-Lago resort, some of which involve an underage girl. However, the ministry stressed that some of these allegations are incorrect, controversial, and unfounded.

The Epstein files remain the subject of widespread controversy, amid questions about the secret relationships and alliances between the prominent figures involved, and whether these files will reveal shocking details in the future.
