Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, confirmed that the Civil Protection Forces succeeded in controlling the fire that broke out in one of the wood warehouses on Kafr Al-Basha Street in the neighbourhood. This came during the Cairo Governor’s supervision of fire extinguishing operations, accompanied by Major General Mohamed Youssef, Director of Cairo Security, and a number of executive leaders, where 10 fire engines participated in dealing with the fire and controlling it in record time.

The control center of the National Emergency and Public Safety Network in Cairo Governorate had received a report of a fire in a wood warehouse, with an area of ​​approximately 2,000 square metres, on Kafr El Basha Street in the Marj neighbourhood, and its impact extended to some neighboring properties without causing any injuries or deaths. Immediately, the Governor of Cairo, the executive agencies, civil protection forces, and neighborhood officials moved to the site of the accident, and the forces were able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring buildings.

Dr. Ibrahim Saber decided to form a specialized engineering committee to determine the extent to which properties near the fire site were affected. He also directed that the effects of the fire be quickly removed as soon as the Public Prosecution and Criminal Investigation Department finished inspecting the site, to determine the causes of the accident.
