Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, Governor, confirmed AssiutContinuing the work of developing and raising the efficiency of the internal streets in the city of Sidfa by installing interlock tiles, with a total cost and financial allocation of 7 million pounds, as part of the investment plan for the fiscal year 2025/2026, with the aim of improving traffic and facilitating the movement of citizens, within the framework of an integrated plan for development and beautification in all centers and neighborhoods.

The governor pointed out that these efforts come in line with the state’s directions, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, towards raising the level of public facilities and services, and improving the quality of life for citizens, in line with the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030.

He explained that the local unit of the center and city of Sidfa, headed by Hani Muhammad, the head of the center, continues to implement the work of installing the interlock in a number of streets within the scope of the center, on a total area estimated at about 15 thousand square meters, under the supervision of the deputy heads of the center and the director of planning and follow-up, and in full coordination between the various departments and concerned parties to overcome any obstacles and accelerate implementation rates.

The governor added that the work of spreading the base layer, sandy soil, paving and leveling work has been completed, and the work of installing interlock tiles has begun at the sites that were handed over to the contractor of the Housing and Utilities Directorate, which reflects the seriousness of implementation on the ground. Implementation is taking place under the technical supervision of specialists in the Roads Department and the Housing Directorate, and in coordination with the local unit and the implementing agency to ensure compliance with the approved technical specifications.

Major General Hisham Abu Al-Nasr stressed the importance of field and periodic follow-up of the works, to ensure that they are implemented in accordance with the specified standards and timetables, which contributes to raising the efficiency of streets and squares, improving the public environment, and giving a civilized appearance that reflects the state’s efforts in developing the services provided to citizens.

It should be noted that Assiut Governorate has designated hotlines in the Central Operations Room to receive citizen complaints around the clock via the numbers (114), (088/2135858), and (088/2135727), in addition to the unified government complaints system number (16528) affiliated with the Council of Ministers, within the framework of enhancing communication with citizens and quickly responding to their complaints.
