Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadiq, President of Cairo University, received a report from Dr. Hossam Salah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, on the statistics of emergency cases and operations that were received and treated at the Reception and Emergency Hospital at Kasr Al-Aini, Cairo University on Eid Sham El-Nessim, within the framework of continuous follow-up and emphasis on providing free therapeutic services to patients, reducing waiting lists and caring for emergency patients.

The Reception and Emergency Hospital at Cairo University receives 398 cases and 65 surgeries

The report indicated that the total number of people visiting the hospital reached 398 cases, which were dealt with by specialized medical teams. 46 cases were reserved to receive the necessary care, and about 334 x-rays were performed, in addition to 722 medical analyzes being performed to support the accuracy of diagnosis and speed of service provision.

The report also monitored that the hospital performed 33 various surgical operations, including one in the brain and nerves specialty, 8 specialized orthopedic operations, and 4 general surgery operations, in addition to performing 20 minor operations, which reflects the complete readiness of all medical specialties within the hospital during vacations and 24 hours a day.

Dr. Muhammad Sami Abdel-Sadiq confirmed that the Reception and Emergency Hospital received all the cases that came to it during the Sham El-Nessim holiday, and the appropriate medications were dispensed for these cases. Some cases were also reserved in the internal departments that require reservation and the appropriate operations were performed according to the appropriate diagnosis for those cases, after being examined by the specialized medical staff and nursing staff present during the Sham El-Nessim holiday period.

The President of Cairo University pointed out that what was achieved in terms of rapid and effective dealing with these cases during Sham El Nessim Eid reflects the efficiency of the medical staff and the readiness of university hospitals at Cairo University to deal with various emergency cases, and reflects the keenness of the university administration to follow up the progress of work inside the hospitals around the clock, in order to ensure the provision of distinguished and safe health service to citizens.

For his part, Dr. Hossam Salah, Dean of the College of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, explained that the Reception and Emergency Hospital witnessed a state of complete discipline and coordination between the various medical departments, which contributed to the speed of service provision and the reduction of waiting times, stressing that the medical teams dealt with the cases that came to the hospital according to the highest professional standards, which led to a rapid response to emergency cases, especially cases of food poisoning and accidents.

Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq, President of Cairo University, directed Dr. Hossam Salah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, to raise the level of preparations in all Cairo University hospitals, during the glorious Easter and Sham El-Nessim, in order to receive all medical cases 24 hours a day, whether emergency cases, clinical treatment, or surgical operations, as part of the university’s keenness to ensure the provision of the best level of medical services to citizens during the holidays.
