Dr. Mahmoud Al-Saeed, Vice President of Cairo University for Graduate Studies and Research, received in his office Dr. Naoshi Sugiyama, President of Nagoya University in Japan, and the high-level delegation accompanying him, to discuss ways of cooperation between the two universities in the academic and research fields, exchange visits by faculty members and students, and renew the cooperation agreement concluded between the two sides, in the presence of Dr. Heidi Bayoumi, General Supervisor of the International Relations Office at Cairo University.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Saeed welcomed Dr. Naoshi Sugiyama and his accompanying delegation to the prestigious Cairo University, and conveyed to them the greetings of Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadiq, President of the University.

Al-Saeed pointed to the aspects of cooperation that already exist between Cairo University and a number of prestigious international universities, including Hiroshima University, stressing that academic agreements with international universities enhance Cairo University’s ability to offer advanced and joint postgraduate programs that contribute to providing students with the knowledge and skills required in the global labor market.

The Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research affirmed the university’s keenness to open horizons of international cooperation to exchange cultures, maximize the benefit from academic and research expertise, and work to advance its ranking within various international classifications, in addition to presenting a graduate with international standards that contributes to achieving Egypt’s vision for sustainable development, pointing to the great progress achieved by Cairo University in the prestigious international classifications.

For his part, Dr. Naoshi Sugiyama, President of Nagoya University in Japan, expressed his happiness at his presence at the prestigious Cairo University, which enjoys a distinguished international reputation. He reviewed the history of the establishment of Nagoya University, the number of its students and programs, and its ranking within international classifications. He looked forward to expanding the scope of joint cooperation with Cairo University to exchange academic and research experiences, and exchange visits by faculty members and students to study, pointing out the university’s keenness to link the academic aspects to the needs of the actual labor market, in addition to establishing a number of Of Egyptian students studying at Nagoya University.

At the end of the meeting, shields and gifts were exchanged and souvenir photos were taken. The delegation also conducted an inspection tour of the Grand Celebration Hall.
