Court issued Luxor feloniesA decision was issued to refer the papers of the accused, “Sabri M.A.” (35 years old), to His Eminence the Mufti of the Republic to obtain a legal opinion regarding his execution, and a session was set to pronounce the final ruling, in Case No. 788 of 2024, Luxor District.

Referring the killer of his friend to the Mufti

The decision was issued under the chairmanship of Counselor Mohab Abdel Ghaffar Abdel Muttalib, and the membership of Counselors Mustafa Muhammad Latif and Ali Mustafa Sabry, in the presence of the Prosecutor Muhammad Atef, and the secretariat of Ahmed Al-Taher.

Betrayal of friendship and the “gallows” ending

The details of the incident go back to the accused ending the life of his lifelong friend and partner, “Muhammad RA,” with a hail of bullets using an automatic rifle in the Qurna Center.

Investigations revealed that the motive for the crime was not merely a financial dispute over the proceeds of the drug trade, which amounted to one million pounds, but rather the matter developed into “moral blackmail.”

Revenge motives

The accused admitted in his confessions, on which the court relied, that the victim took advantage of the accused’s imprisonment to seize his money, and when he demanded it from him, he threatened to publish “private pictures and video clips of the accused’s mother” that he had kept on a “flash drive.”

Investigations confirmed the authenticity of the incident, as the accused had the intention and resolve to kill his friend in revenge for his honor, so he stalked him where he was and shot him with the intention of taking his life, bringing the curtain down on a friendship that lasted 7 years by virtue of referral to the Mufti.
