The activities of a number of cultural and artistic seminars will begin today, Saturday, as part of the book fair’s seminar program, in Plaza Halls 1 and 2, with the participation of an elite group of intellectuals and artists.

Cairo International Book Fair

A symposium entitled The Egyptian Personality will be held at exactly two o’clock in the afternoon in Plaza Hall 1, during which the poet Nasser Abdel Rahman will speak, in the presence of the artist Ali El Haggar, and the writer and screenwriter Abdel Rahim Kamal.

In the same context, Plaza Hall 2 will host a symposium by the artist Ahmed Munib at six o’clock in the evening, and a seminar entitled The Art of Dubbing, presented by the artist Karim Al-Husseini, will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon, as part of the program of artistic seminars for the book fair.

Cairo International Book Fair in its 57th session

The Fatwa Corner in Al-Azhar’s pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair in its 57th session witnessed a significant influx of audience members from the exhibition on its second day, as visitors from different age groups were keen to raise the jurisprudential questions and contemporary religious issues on their minds, within a framework of confidence in the moderate Al-Azhar authority.

The Fatwa Corner includes an elite group of academically qualified muftis, male and female, who attend throughout the exhibition days to listen to the public’s questions objectively and carefully, and provide accurate legal answers in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia and its objectives, with full commitment to privacy and complete confidentiality, taking into account the sensitivity of the issues raised and their personal nature.

Works by Ali Al-Hajjar

In a different context, Ali Al-Haggar previously revealed his father’s advice to him at the beginning of his artistic career, confirming that he advised him to present songs that live in the minds of the public. He said during his interview with Cairo 24, saying: My father advised me and told me to make songs that live after they die. The sentence is simple to say, but its implementation is difficult and not easy, and I do not believe that I succeeded in doing that in my songs. I never thought that the word would become famous or not, but I was careful that it did not go out of public taste.

On the other hand, Ali Al-Haggar previously shined in his concert at the Arab Music Festival, where the features of the era of masterpieces were mixed with the features of contemporary creativity in the nights of the festival in its 33rd session, which bears the name of the planet of the East, Umm Kulthum, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of her passing, and is organized by the Ministry of Culture, represented by the Egyptian Opera House, headed by Dr. Alaa Abdel Salam, and directed by Maestro Tamer Ghoneim and his deputy, Maestro Dr. Mohamed Al-Mogy, under the supervision of Amani Al-Saeed, chief advisor.
