The Cultural Development Fund Sector of the Ministry of Culture, through the Qubbat Al-Ghouri Creativity Center on Al-Azhar Street, will present an artistic concert by the Rahaat Al-Souh Band, on Thursday evening, January 8.
The Comfort of Souls Band is one of the groups specialized in the art of religious chanting and Sufi supplications. In its performances, it relies on disciplined group performance and the presentation of selected texts from the spiritual heritage, in formulations that preserve the authentic maqamat and rhythmic templates of this artistic genre. The band is led by vocalist Osama Allam, who is distinguished by a performance style that focuses on the spiritual dimension of chanting, while adhering to the traditional school of this art.
During the ceremony, the band is scheduled to present a group of works belonging to the Sufi heritage and prophetic praises, in an artistic experience that seeks to elevate aesthetic taste and revive one of the most important patterns of spiritual expression in Arab culture.
This concert comes within the program of the Cultural Development Fund, which aims to make heritage and spiritual arts available to a wide audience, support specialized teams, and activate the cultural role of its creativity centers, in confirmation of its role in preserving the Egyptian cultural identity and enhancing the presence of authentic arts in the contemporary cultural scene.
