The Board of Directors of Al-Ahly Club, headed by Captain Mahmoud Al-Khatib, thanked the Ministry of Interior and the concerned authorities, after the release of a group of imprisoned Al-Ahly fans, out of concern for their future.

The Council expressed its appreciation for this positive step by the security leaders, and is confident that the next few days will witness a renewed consideration of the position of their other colleagues within the framework of the rule of law.

The Council renewed its mandate to the club’s legal advisors to continue to provide full legal support to the remaining detainees, in accordance with legal and constitutional frameworks, respect for state institutions, and permanent coordination with their lawyers.

<p>Earlier, the competent investigation authorities decided to release 35 Al-Ahly fans, after accusing them of causing riots and damage after the Al-Ahly and Royal Army match, on bail of one thousand pounds.</p>
<p>Lawyer Mohamed Rashwan said that the competent investigation authorities began investigating 35 fans against the background of the riots and vandalism of property that took place in the match between Al-Ahly and the Royal Moroccan Army, at Cairo International Stadium in the African Champions League competitions.</p>
<p>He added, in exclusive statements to Cairo 24, that the security services arrested 35 fans after the match between Al-Ahly Club and the Royal Army, on charges of rioting and destruction.</p>
