The technical staff of Zamalek Club is preparing to hold a special session with Mahdi Soliman, the team’s goalkeeper, following his return to group training, in a step aimed at containing the crisis that broke out recently before the team’s delegation travels to South Africa to participate in the Confederation Cup tournament.

A session with Mahdi Suleiman to contain his crisis in Zamalek

A source within the Zamalek club revealed to Cairo 24 that the technical staff is seeking to prepare Mahdi Soliman to be the team’s primary goalkeeper during the coming period, specifically in the Egypt Cup matches and the Egyptian Capital Cup matches, in light of the absence of the duo Mohamed Awad, who is currently in the camp of the Egypt national team participating in the Arab Cup, and the possibility of Mohamed Sobhi also joining the ranks of the team in preparation for the African Cup of Nations scheduled for Morocco.

The source added in his statements that the technical staff wants to reassure the goalkeeper and inform him officially that he will be the first choice to guard Zamalek’s goal during the next stage, in order to alleviate his anger after his repeated exclusion from participation throughout the last period, which led him to be absent from training, which resulted in him signing a financial fine and deducting part of his dues.

The source concluded his statements by noting that the technical staff places the guarding file at its top priority in the next stage to ensure the team’s readiness in light of the pressure of matches and the demands of local and continental competitions.
