Major General Samir Faraj, a military and strategic expert, said that the failure of the negotiations between The United States and Iran It came suddenly despite positive indicators that preceded its holding, indicating that the fundamental differences, especially over enriched uranium and control of the Strait of Hormuz, destroyed the chances of reaching an agreement.

Failure of negotiations between the United States and Iran

Faraj explained, during an intervention with journalist Sayed Ali on the Hazrat al-Muwatin program, that Iran’s insistence on retaining about 450 kilograms of enriched uranium, in addition to its insistence on imposing control over the Strait of Hormuz, were the main factors in the collapse of the talks, stressing that these demands contradict the American and international vision.

Faraj pointed out that the United States has already begun moving towards a possible economic and military escalation, by imposing a naval blockade on Iran, in a move aimed at stifling its oil exports, stressing that this scenario may lead to serious repercussions on the global economy.

He added that the coming days will be decisive, with a deadline that may witness a return to negotiations, especially in light of new international movements, including contacts from Vladimir Putin and mediation offers, in addition to indications of possible support from China for Iran.

He concluded that the region stands on the verge of a new escalation, which may include the return of military operations on a larger scale, which threatens the stability of energy markets and places the world facing a complex economic crisis if tension continues.
