Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, stressed the necessity of launching a national project to promote early childhood, because of its direct impact on human development, reviewing the preliminary results of the comprehensive national inventory of nurseries nationwide, which included the number of classes, occupancy and coverage rates, in addition to the percentage of children enrolled in nurseries in the age group of 3 to 4 years, comparing these indicators with their counterparts in other countries.

This came at a meeting of the Ministerial Group for Human Development headed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population. The meeting discussed a number of work files for the coming period, which contributes to raising the group’s efficiency in implementing its strategic plans.

Dr. Maya Morsi stressed the importance of simplifying licensing procedures and activating the digital licensing system, which contributes to increasing the number of classes and nurseries and achieving the desired goals in this vital file.

The Minister of Labor, Muhammad Gibran, pointed out that the project to establish nurseries in youth centers and clubs represents a pivotal step to support women’s participation in the labor market, as it provides a safe environment for their children and contributes to reducing the burden of family care, stressing the importance of integrated coordination between all ministries and concerned authorities to ensure effective implementation, while emphasizing the necessity of adhering to licensing controls, especially with regard to occupational safety and health requirements.

He pointed out that nursery programs must combine the educational aspect with sports activity to promote an integrated upbringing of children. During the meeting, he also reviewed the Voice of Work initiative, which is an integrated digital service for receiving workers’ complaints and following up on their resolution, explaining the stages of dealing with complaints and the objectives of the operational and strategic initiative, in addition to reviewing the expected cost, the work plan, and future supporting programs in this framework.
