A teacher in Sohag Governorate claimed that he was subjected to unfair dismissal from his employer, demanding that he be returned to his job, confirming that he obtained several certificates of appreciation during his work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including being honored as an ideal teacher in one of the educational bodies there.

The teacher appeared in a clip circulating on social media, during which he appealed to officials to allow him to return to work, taking into account his family circumstances and his children, stressing that the decision to dismiss him came without legal support – in his words – which caused him financial and social harm.

The teacher indicated that he submitted official requests to the relevant authorities, including a public meeting with the Governor of Sohag, but he was surprised – according to his account – by the refusal to return to work, demanding that his job position be re-examined and that he be given a new opportunity.

On the other hand, informed sources confirmed that the position of the teacher’s return is subject to legal procedures and a comprehensive examination of his employment status, in accordance with the laws and regulations regulating work, stressing that any decision taken is within the framework of preserving the public interest.

In an official statement, Sohag Governorate revealed the truth about what was circulated on social media regarding the allegation of arbitrary dismissal of a teacher without legal basis. It turned out that the incident concerned a former chemistry teacher in the Educational Department, against whom a final judicial ruling was issued for a felony.

Referring to official documents, it was proven that the Maragheh Criminal Court issued its ruling in Case No. 883 of 2020, convicting the aforementioned on charges of possessing a firearm without a license, premeditated assault on a child, and terrorizing citizens and causing harm to them, which resulted in the victim suffering a permanent disability. The court ruled imprisonment and a fine, which is a final ruling after exhausting the methods of appeal and it was implemented.

During November 2025, the aforementioned person submitted a request to return to work, but an examination of his legal position confirmed that the charges were proven by an effective judicial ruling and are considered crimes against honor and trust, and are not compatible with the nature of the teaching profession, especially since the victim is a child.

The concerned authorities confirmed that resorting to the judiciary is the legal path, with a warning that the incident of filming, broadcasting and promotion should be referred to the investigation authorities to take the necessary measures.
