The Cairo Chamber of Commerce, headed by Ayman Al-Ashry, through the Poultry Wealth Division, continued its efforts to develop and advance this sector, as the Division held an expanded meeting headed by Dr. Abdel Aziz Al-Sayyid, with the participation of Dr. Tharwat El-Zeini, Vice President of the Poultry Producers Union, Dr. Mona Nazif, Director General of Prevention at the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Cairo, Dr. Samir Amin, and Dr. Madonna Mounir, representatives of the Food Safety Authority, in the presence of Mohamed Tammam El-Amin. General and Chairman of the Chamber’s Executive Board, and Hamdi Abdel Moneim, Advisor to the Secretary-General of the Chamber.

Discussions took place on how to develop this important industry at the societal and economic levels, through the solidarity of all private and public stakeholders to achieve the state’s development vision 2030 in developing the poultry sector, and that the epidemiological situation is reassuring and there are no problems, and that slaughterhouses are subject to continuous veterinary supervision through veterinarians who follow up on the poultry with a complete examination, and there is an ongoing epidemiological investigation.

Views were exchanged among the attendees on ways to intensify cooperation during the next stage, and successive sessions were held to discuss any developments and obstacles that may face this sector.

Among the most important recommendations that were agreed upon during the meeting, which will be submitted in an official memorandum to Ayman Al-Ashry, Chairman of the Cairo Chamber within a few days: “The importance of striving to create an integrated system for the poultry industry through a production map jointly prepared by all concerned parties from the public and private sectors in a manner consistent with Egypt’s Vision 2030 – the necessity of expanding the export of poultry in light of the increase in production capacity beyond the consumption limit – moving quickly to create a price equation to control all trading episodes in this sector (feeds – mothers – Layers – chicks – fattening – consumer) – completing all procedures to implement the law prohibiting the circulation of live poultry.
