The first day of the activities of the fifty-seventh session of exhibition The Cairo International Book Fair, held under the patronage of His Excellency Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and organized by the Ministry of Culture through the Egyptian General Book Authority, received a huge turnout, as the number of visitors to the exhibition on its opening day to the public reached 245,099 visitors.

Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, confirmed that the current session of the exhibition witnesses a rich diversity of intellectual and artistic activities and programmes, in addition to continuous development in the level of services provided to the exhibition’s visitors, which contributes to providing an integrated cultural experience worthy of the history of the Cairo International Book Fair and its leading position at the Arab and international levels.

The Minister of Culture indicated the Ministry’s keenness for the exhibition to remain a comprehensive platform for thought and creativity, and an open space for dialogue and enlightenment, in a way that enhances the role of culture in building humanity and supporting community awareness.

The activities of the fifty-seventh session of the Cairo International Book Fair will continue until next February 3, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement.
