The New Valley Engineers Union’s sub-elections began today, Friday, in two committees at the union’s headquarters in Kharga and Dakhla, to hold the midterm elections for the sub-union council, elect half of the members of the sub-union council, and vote to elect members in the engineering divisions of the general union.
Limited turnout in engineers elections
Engineer Ahmed Abdel Rahim Abu Zaid, Secretary General of the New Valley Engineers Syndicate and head of the committee supervising the New Valley Engineers’ elections, explained that the turnout is limited in the first hours and is increasing since the New Valley Engineers Syndicate’s elections began today, Friday, in two committees at the union’s headquarters in Kharga and Dokha to conduct the mid-term elections for the Sub-Union Council, elect half of the members of the Sub-Union Council, and vote to elect members of the engineering divisions of the General Syndicate. On the side of the engineers are members of the General Assembly of the New Valley Engineers Syndicate, and to participate in The elections, which began at ten in the morning, and continue until five in the evening, were provided with amenities for easy voting in the election committees inside and outside the country, where the elections are held under judicial supervision.
He explained that the midterm elections include the election of half of the council members, 7 members, in addition to the election of 8 members in the engineering divisions of the General Syndicate, in addition to the election of the Captain of the New Valley Engineers Syndicate, noting that those who have the right to vote are the members of the Syndicate who have paid their due contributions in accordance with Article 13 of the Syndicate Law, and the governorate includes approximately 1,600 engineers, members of the General Assembly, stressing that next Friday, March 5, the General Syndicate will be elected and a rerun will be held for the position of New Valley Syndicate President in the event that Conduct a runoff.
