Lenovo officially announced the global launch of the Legion Tab (8.8″, 5th generation) during MWC 2026, as a direct successor to last year’s version.
The device includes an 8.8-inch LCD screen with a 3K resolution of 3040 x 1904 pixels, with an aspect ratio of 16:10. Despite the stability of the screen size compared to the previous generation, the company raised the refresh rate to 165 Hz at a variable rate, with support for a touch response rate of 144 Hz and a maximum brightness of up to 750 nits.
The device is based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip manufactured with a 3nm resolution, along with the Adreno 840 graphics processor, which enhances its capabilities in running heavy games.
Lenovo offers options of up to 16 GB of LPDDR5T memory at a speed of 10667 Mbps, and an internal storage capacity of up to 512 GB of UFS 4.1 Pro type.
To ensure stable performance during intense gaming sessions, the company has integrated the advanced Legion Coldfront Vapor cooling system, which it says improves heat dissipation efficiency by 32% compared to the previous generation.
The device runs the Android 16 system, and benefits from Lenovo AI Engine+ solutions enhanced with artificial intelligence, as this system improves touch response according to real-time scene analysis, enhances important sounds within games, in addition to providing the noise isolation feature for voice conversations.
One of the most prominent design elements is the presence of two USB-C ports that allow charging and using accessories at the same time.
The device includes two 50-megapixel cameras on the front and back, and a 9,000 mAh battery that supports 68-watt fast charging, in addition to support for Wi-Fi 7. The weight of the device is 360 grams, and it will be available in black, white, and silver colors.
The company sets April 2026 as the date for launching the device at a price starting at 999 euros (about $1,178), and it will arrive in the Chinese market later this month under the name Legion Y700 (2026).
