Xiaomi officially launched the Xiaomi 17 Ultra phone in China yesterday, and in addition to that, it announced new products, including the Xiaomi Watch 5.
This new smart watch comes with a circular AMOLED screen, supports a dual-chip architecture, and promises a battery life of up to 6 days.
The Xiaomi Watch 5 features a stainless steel case housing a 1.54-inch AMOLED circular display, with a 60Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels, with a brightness of up to 1500nits.
The watch also has sapphire crystal glass on the front and back. The device weighs 56 grams without the bracelet, is 12.3 mm thick, offers water resistance up to 5ATM, and runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3.
The watch is based on a dual-chip architecture that includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 processor with a low-power Hengxuan 2800 chip, enhancing its performance and energy efficiency.
Regarding fitness and health tracking, the Watch 5 provides continuous heart rate measurement, electrocardiogram (ECG), blood oxygen measurement (SpO2), psychological pressure monitoring, sleep tracking, and supports more than 150 sports modes. It also provides colorful offline maps and multiple running functions.
The watch has a 930 mAh battery, lasts up to 6 days with normal use, and can last up to 18 days when power saving mode is activated. The ECG sensor can also be used to navigate and control manual gestures, such as answering calls, stopping alarms, remote photography, controlling music, and more.
The watch supports connectivity via Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi, NFC, and GPS, in addition to eSIM support to provide phone-independent connectivity.
The Watch 5 is available in silver and black with multiple strap options, including a rubber strap, a leather strap, and a 3D printed titanium TC4 strap. The price of the watch with the rubber bracelet starts at CNY 1,999 (about $285), while the leather straps with the eSIM version are available at CNY 2,299 (about $330).
The 3D bracelet is priced at 799 Chinese yuan (about $110) and comes in black and silver to match the watch case.
