An unknown phone from HMD has appeared on Geekbench under the codename “Pearl”. During testing, the phone ran Android 15, a Unisoc processor, and only 4GB of RAM.

As for the processor used, it appears to be a Unisoc T7250. Although the motherboard named “ums9230_6h10” refers to the T606/T615/T616 series, the processor speeds (2 cores at 1.82GHz + 6 cores at 1.61GHz) confirm that it is indeed a T7250, while both the T606 and T7250 use the Mali-G57 graphics processor.

Geekbench 6.2.2 results indicate the performance of the HMD Pearl, and the phone itself may be the HMD Pulse 2 Pro. For comparison, the original HMD Pulse series used a Unisoc T606 processor and achieved scores of 392 points for single-core performance and 1,385 points for multi-core performance. The T7250 offers slightly higher performance thanks to its higher speeds.

Recent leaks about the HMD Pulse 2 Pro indicated a T615 processor and 6 GB of RAM. It should be noted that the original Pulse phone came in 4 and 6 GB options, so this is not surprising. Also, the processor difference may be due to stores mixing up the T615 and T7250.

As for the random memory capacity, it is important because Android 16 requires at least 6 GB to run the full version, while 4 GB phones may need to upgrade to the Android 16 Go version when updating from Android 15. However, the recent increase in memory prices may lead to the return of 4 GB phones, which may prompt Google to reconsider the system requirements.

Finally, the HMD Pulse 2 Pro comes with Android 15 out of the box, which matches what Geekbench showed of the Pearl, supporting the theory that they are the same phone. With two versions with a capacity of 4 and 6 GB, the question remains about how the update to Android 16 deals with these differences.
