Samsung unveiled the new generation of the portable projector, The Freestyle, during CES 2026 in Las Vegas, and it comes with noticeable improvements that make it brighter and smarter compared to the previous version launched in 2022. The device maintains its compact and elegant design that allows the display to be directed 180 degrees, with a rotatable base to install it on any surface, making it ideal for home or outdoor use.
The new Freestyle features an increase in brightness to 550 lumens (compared to 230 lumens in the first generation), enabling a sharper image to be displayed even in ambient light, while supporting Full HD (1080p) resolution and a display size of up to 100 inches. The device has also become smarter thanks to the integration of the advanced Tizen OS system, which supports streaming applications such as Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube, with the Gaming Hub feature to play cloud games without the need for a gaming device, in addition to supporting Auto Keystone and Auto Focus technology to automatically adjust the image.
Among the notable improvements are the addition of a “Smart Calibration” feature that uses the smartphone’s camera to precisely adjust colors and brightness, and support for 360-degree surround sound with a built-in 5-watt speaker. The device is powered by an optional external battery that provides up to 3 hours of operation, with a USB-C port for charging. Samsung did not reveal the exact price of the device, but it is expected to range between $600 and $800, similar to the price of the previous generation ($599 at launch), with availability in the market during the first quarter of 2026.
