Recent leaks revealed the options offered for the primary camera in the upcoming OnePlus 16 phone. These leaks come after the launch of the previous version, OnePlus 15, in 2025, which came equipped with a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup, highlighting the company’s plans for the new generation of its flagship phones.

In conjunction with these leaks, OnePlus continues its teaser campaign for its new compact phone, OnePlus 15T. The company is expected to launch this version in China during the month of March, while the eyes of followers are directed towards the OnePlus 16 phone, which will represent the company’s flagship version in the next stage.

The OnePlusClub account on the X platform shared a leak showing the potential options for the primary camera in the new phone. The leak indicated that the company is choosing between two main options: The first is Sony’s 50-megapixel LYT-700 sensor, which is believed to be similar to the IMX906 sensor used in the previous version, and comes in at 1/1.56 inches.

The second option is the 200-megapixel HP5 sensor from Samsung. This sensor was revealed in October 2025 as the smallest sensor with this accuracy, with a size of 1/1.56 inches. This is consistent with previous hints from the Smart Pikachu account on the Weibo platform, which indicated the possibility of using a 200-megapixel telephoto lens as well, which raises the possibility of the phone coming with two 200-megapixel cameras.

Until this moment, there are no official statements from the company confirming these details about the camera settings on the OnePlus 16 phone. In a related context, other recent leaks have hinted that the new phone may come with very thin screen edges less than 1 mm thick, to provide a modern and attractive design.
