Motorola announced its new foldable phone, the Razr Ultra 2026, during the CES 2026 exhibition in Las Vegas on January 5, 2026, to be a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Google Pixel Fold devices. The device features a classic clamshell design with notable improvements in display and performance to put Motorola at the forefront of the foldable phone market.
The Razr Ultra 2026 comes with a 7.2-inch foldable OLED internal screen with pOLED resolution and a 165 Hz refresh rate, with a brightness of up to 3,000 nits for use in strong outdoor lighting, and a larger 4-inch external screen for quick access to apps and notifications without opening the device. It is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, with 16GB RAM and up to 512GB internal storage, and a 4700 mAh battery that supports 68W fast charging and 30W wireless charging.
The main cameras include a 50-megapixel sensor with optical stabilization, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, with a 32-megapixel front camera, and support for 8K recording. It features IPX8 water resistance, a scratch-resistant titanium body, and an improved hinge that reduces creases in the inner display. It runs on Android 16 with the upgraded Hello UI interface, and supports updates for 5 years.
The price of the Razr Ultra 2026 starts at $999 for the basic version, which is less than the price of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 ($1099) and Pixel 9 Pro Fold ($1799), with availability in the markets during the first quarter of 2026 starting in the United States and Europe.
The device is being promoted as a solid budget option in the foldable phone market, with an emphasis on a large external screen and high performance to appeal to users looking for an alternative to Samsung and Google.
