Sony is preparing to officially announce the WF-1000XM6 headphones on February 12, and before the launch date a new leak appeared revealing the most prominent specifications and expected upgrades.

According to the leak, the headphones are based on the new QN3e processor, which is said to be three times faster compared to the processor used in the WF-1000XM5.

The headphones are also equipped with eight adaptive microphones, four in each earphone, instead of six microphones in the previous generation, which enhances noise isolation performance and call quality.

Besides, the WF-1000XM6 gets new audio drivers, with support for LDAC and DSEE Extreme technologies, as well as a ten-band equalizer, and support for Auracast, Multipoint, Fast Pair, and Swift Pair.

As for the battery, the operating time reaches 8 hours with the headphones, while the charging case provides two additional charges, bringing the total to 24 hours. The headphones also come with an IPX4 standard to resist water splashes.

In terms of comfort and use, Sony is improving the ergonomics and airflow, while adding a built-in fit test within the app.

The headphones also support 360 Reality Audio technology with head movement tracking, and a smart ambient sound mode with three automatic modes. In the case, the company provides four different sizes of ear tips to suit different users.
