Apple announced at its event today that major updates for the following devices, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple TV, are almost ready. At today’s “Time Flies” event, the company announced that iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, with the latest watchOS and tvOS updates, will begin appearing on Wednesday, tomorrow, September 16.

As of today’s event, app developers have not yet received the completed release of these updates, so the update release schedule appears to be strangely rushed.

New features coming with the new Apple update.

iOS 14 brings new widgets to the iPhone home screen for the first time, so you can collect all your apps in one app library, he adds.

There’s also a new Translate app. iPadOS 14 won’t let you put widgets anywhere you want on the home screen, but it’s based on what you can do with the Apple Pencil.

The new Scribble feature in iPadOS 14 lets you “manually write in any text field across iPadOS, and your words automatically turn into text.” Additionally, more native Apple apps add sidebars and expanded menus to take advantage of the iPad’s larger screen.

Both updates share improvements to Messages (such as pinned conversations, mentions, and inline replies), Maps, built-in notifications for incoming calls, privacy improvements, a redesigned Music app, and more.
