On Wednesday, Huawei revealed its credit card (Huawei Card), which appears to be an imitation of Apple, which launched its (Apple Card) card in late March 2019. The (Huawei Card) card was announced by the CEO of the Chinese company (Richard Yu), along with the launch of the P40 phones, during a local event in China.

Although the full details of the card have not yet been announced, it is somewhat similar to the Apple Card, as it will be highly digitally supported and linked to the electronic payment service (Huawei Pay). Similar to common credit cards, there is a real Huawei Card to process payments, and it will work through the Chinese financial services company UnionPay, which provides bank card services.

The card also supports NFC technology for contactless payments. Unlike the Apple Card, the Huawei Card appears to have an annual fee, like regular credit cards. In order to attract consumers, Huawei said: It will waive the annual fees during the first year for all consumers. For those who meet a certain amount of transactions, the second year will also be free. The Huawei Card also promises certain rewards, such as cashback programs, as well as things like VIP lounge access and other travel rewards.

Huawei also promised to handle the security of the digital version of the data from the card with the utmost care and security, especially in light of the concerns raised by Western countries about the company cooperating with the Chinese government in espionage.

It is believed that the announcement of the Huawei Card comes to remedy the matter before Apple dominates the Chinese market, especially after the American company obtained initial approval from the People’s Bank of China to operate its card in the country.
