Huawei officially announced the nova 15 series in China as its latest mid-range phone, as it includes three models: nova 15, nova 15 Pro, and nova 15 Ultra. The series offers a new design based on the concept of dual rings, in addition to clear improvements at the level of cameras, processors, and batteries.
The nova 15 Pro and nova 15 Ultra phones share most of the basic specifications, as they come with a 6.84-inch LTPO OLED screen with a resolution of 1320 x 2856 pixels, with a variable refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz and a local brightness of up to 4000 nits, with protection from Kunlun glass. The front camera includes a 50-megapixel sensor supported by a spectral sensor.
On the back, the Ultra version relies on three 50-megapixel RYYB cameras, including a main lens with variable aperture and support for optical stabilization, a periscope lens with 3.7 times optical zoom, and a 118-degree wide-angle lens.
The Pro version offers a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 13-megapixel wide lens. The two phones have a rating of IP68 and IP69 for water and dust resistance.
In these two versions, Huawei relies on the new Kirin 9010S processor with improved performance, supports satellite communication, and runs HarmonyOS 6.0. It also provides them with a 6,500 mAh battery with 100-watt wired charging, with support for wireless charging in the Ultra version.
On the other hand, the nova 15 phone comes with a 6.7-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, with a 50-megapixel front camera. On the back, it includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and a spectral color sensor. The phone is based on the Kirin 8020 processor, with a 6000 mAh battery and support for 100-watt fast charging, in addition to an IP65 rating.
Prices for the nova 15 series in China start at 2,699 Chinese yuan for the nova 15 version with a capacity of 256 GB, and reach 4,999 Chinese yuan for the version of the nova 15 Ultra with a capacity of 1 TB. The series is currently available for pre-order through the Vmall store, with shipments to begin on December 27.
